CARFAX 1-OWNER VEHICLE, LOCAL TRADE, The 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE stands as a compelling expression of what a modern, efficient crossover can be. At its heart, it employs Toyotas hybrid system combining a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with electric motor-generators, producing a system output of 219 horsepower. Cars.com +2 Kbb.com +2 All-wheel drive is standard on the Hybrid variants, thanks to an additional rear electric motor. Cars.com +2 Toyota +2 The result is a vehicle that feels more spirited than many non-hybrid competitorsits acceleration is smooth and responsive, with enough torque on hand for confident overtakes or highway merging. Cars.com +1 One of the RAV4 Hybrid XSEs key strengths is its efficiency. It is EPA rated at 41 mpg city / 38 mpg highway / 40 mpg combined an excellent balance for a crossover that also offers usable performance and full-time AWD. Toyota +2 Kbb.com +2 Over the years, drivers report that real-world fuel economy often approaches or matches these figures under moderate driving conditions. Visually, the XSE trim brings sportiness and flair to the RAV4 lineup. It carries unique exterior styling touches: gloss-black accents, sportier front and rear bumpers, LED daytime running lights, a daring contrast roof option (on many units), and distinct alloy wheels that signal its more dynamic intent. While not as rugged as off-roadoriented trims, the XSE leans into a sporty, urban-adventurer aesthetic. Inside, the cabin is tailored to comfort and functionality. The RAV4 Hybrid XSE seats five, offering a passenger volume just under 99 cubic feet. U.S. News Cars +1 Front occupants enjoy about 37.7 inches of headroom and generous legroom (~41 inches), while rear passengers benefit from a comfortable shoulder and hip room to ensure longer rides are agreeable. U.S. News Cars Materials and finishes in the XSE are a step above base trims expect SofTex (Toyotas synthetic leather) upholstery, heated front seats, sporty trim details, and a driver-oriented ergonomics layout. The cargo area behind the rear seats offers around 37.5 cubic feet of space, expandable with the 60/40-split folding rear seats. Edmunds +2 Toyota +2 Tech and safety are core strengths. The RAV4 Hybrid XSE includes Toyotas Safety Sense 2.5 suite: features like pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, dynamic radar cruise control, and lane trace assist. Toyota +1 Infotainment-wise, you get a touchscreen interface with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration, Bluetooth, and a multi-information display in the instrument cluster to relay hybrid system data (e.g. energy flow, battery status). The hybrid systems regenerative braking smooths deceleration and recaptures energy, while the transition between electric and gas propulsion is seamless under most driving conditions. On the road, the RAV4 Hybrid XSE blends poise and confidence. Its chassis is tuned for a composed ride body motions are kept in check, and the steering response is precise enough for city weaving or canyon curves without feeling overdone. The fully electric AWD motor helps provide rear-axle traction when needed, giving the RAV4 Hybrid good grip in wet or slippery conditions. The suspension finds a balance between comfort and control: you are aware of the road beneath you, but not jarred. Utility-wise, towing is modest (as is typical for this class), with certain configurations allowed up to about 1,750 to 2,000 pounds (depending on options). The hybrid layout doesnt significantly impinge on ground clearance, and the roof rails (often included or available) expand its adaptability for carrying gear, bikes, or roof boxes., 2.5L 4-Cylinder.

Nice Ride but ONE issue...
By Greg | on Thursday, December 23, 2021
This has been a good choice in vehicles. It rides well, very comfortable, decent sound system, good mileage, adaptive cruise and lane assist work well. My only issue is the noise levels. There is little to no soundproofing or insulation. Even the underside of the hood is bare.… - 4.0
Loved it until this morning
By T | on Tuesday, May 19, 2020
Really loved the car. Was quite comfortable and had decent mileage. Then this morning our 5 month old 2020 Rav4 AWD XLE premium, driven daily. I parked it for 16 hours overnight. This morning battery was dead, nothing was left on. Checked it out at 5.59 volts on the Fluke meter. By the time the tow truck showed up a half hour later it's at 5.49. Something is very wrong here. After checking online it seems this is not an isolated case. Many 2020 Rav4's with dead batteries and no resolution from Toyota. I bought this because our 2018 Rav4 was so reliable. Now I don't know if I can trust this car. Toyota better fix this issue or I'm not going to buy another car from them!… - 2.0
Too much road noise, some rattling and fuel tank
By Seymour | on Sunday, August 02, 2020
Can hear a fair amount of road noise when driving and rattling inside, car seems on the unstable side while driving, car is advertised to have a 14.5 gallon fuel tank, but what they don’t disclose to you if you buy one it only fills up to about 10 gallons then the pump clicks off, your suppose to get 580 miles to empty on a full tank but since the pump clicks off before the tank is full you only get around 400 miles to empty, looked online to discover this started with the 2019’s when Toyota redesigned the fuel tank but they are still selling the vehicle without telling customers about this issue and still saying it has a 14.5 gallon tank and you’ll get 580 miles to empty on a full tank but with the changes they made to the fuel tank in 2019 that cause the pump to click off before the tank is full getting 14.5 gallons and or the 580 miles to empty is misleading, I contacted Toyota they said they know about it and are working on a solution but why is it taking so long, they did the redesign of the RAV4 hybrids fuel tanks in 2019 which according to Toyota is the cause of the issue, it’s now over halfway to 2021 still they haven’t fixed the problem and their dealerships continue to sell this vehicle without disclosing the fuel tank problem.…
